McVitie's will ensure that allergens (such as gluten, peanuts, milk) when present at any level as an ingredient in a product will be clearly labelled.

In addition where there is an unavoidable cross contamination risk, McVitie's pack labels will carry a suitable warning (such  as 'May contain...' ) advising the consumer of a risk of cross contamination. McVitie's aims to provide this advice immediately beneath the ingredient declaration on the pack.

Many years of research has gone into ensuring that the best packaging is used to maintain product freshness throughout its life. 

McVitie's has significantly reformulated its products to improve the nutritional content by reducing saturated fat and sodium, as well as removing hydrogenated vegetable oil - the main source of trans fats.
